Futsal Tournament Rules – all ages

5v5 Indoor courts www.gormanstonpark.ie

Ball size – size 3 all ages. (Match ball will be provided for each court)

Kick off – at the halfway line after each goal is scored

Kick in’s – The ball is kicked back into play from the sideline or corner. The ball must be stationary on

the line.

Restarts – Five metre rules apply to all restarts.

Corner kicks – Normal corner kick rule applies

Penalties – Six metre from the goal

Tackles – No sliding tackles. Players can slide to keep ball in play, Goalkeeper is allowed slide to

block shots

Four Second Rule – Player in possession of the ball has four seconds to restart the game when the

ball goes out of play

 

Goalkeepers - are not allowed to control the ball for more than four seconds in their own half

Goalkeepers – must release the ball from their hands from a goal clearance. If the Goalkeeper

catches the ball in open play, they can kick it from their hands

Goalkeepers - cannot pick up/handle a back pass

In the event of a red card, automatic 1 game suspension. Team must continue with 4 players until opposition score.

If a team is winning by a 3 Goal margin the opposing team can bring on an extra player (I.e. Play

6v5) until there is a 2-goal margin. This applies at all age groups.

 

****U8 only – Active retreat line (Halfway line). Retreat line is only active when the ball goes

over the end line. Kick off after each goal is scored.

 

 

 

Overview

 

1. Teams must register at least 20-30mins before kickoff time (Register

with coordinator as you arrive in Futsal Hall)

2. Players Must wear shin guards

3. No glasses are allowed to be worn while on the court

4. Each team must have a medical kit

5. Clash of colors, first named team to choose (all teams to bring two sets of

gear/or bibs)

6. Teams to referee games amongst themselves.

7. Games must start at listed times.

8. Teams arriving late for the start of a game may forfeit the time allocated to

game.

9. 3 Managers/coaches and substitutes only allowed on the bench during games. All must remain seated except for 1 manager

10. In the interest of all participants, all players and adults must conduct

themselves in an appropriate manner on and off the pitch. Failure to do so

will result in their team being expelled from the Tournament

11. All spectators (non-coaching staff) are asked to view game from viewing

gallery. (Coffee shop upstairs)

12. Both managers must submit all scores of games to venue co-coordinator straight after each game
